What's It All About?

When Laurel reader Mandy Rivers, of www.SouthYourMouth.com fame messaged with this suggestion I instantly loved it. Recognizing people in our community who make a difference, those who go the extra mile, with a smile, the ones who make your day brighter... well we loved the idea.

To be legendary is to be famous. Laurel Local Legends are famous for kindness, servitude and just being extraordinary. I put a message on social media asking for recommendations and they came quickly because these mountains are full of people doing great things. We want to see this grow and while we probably can't print them all in our magazine, we can share them here and on our social media pages.

Laurel Local Legends are kind, uplifting, genuine and remarkable, they are the people you love to see. They roll up their sleeves and are always ready to help. It's a pat on the back, a big ol' hug, an "attaboy", and maybe, just maybe kindness will spread like wildfire.

Most people agree that kindness feels better for the giver than for the receiver and this is something that "local legends" know. So, let's celebrate the greatness in our friends and neighbors!
